Ty Dillon and South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa to join Jordan Anderson Racing at Las Vegas Motor Speedway

Jordan Anderson Racing (JAR) announced today that Ty Dillon will drive the team’s No.31 South Point Chevrolet Camaro SS in Alsco 302 uniforms at Las Vegas Auto Circuit (LVMS) on September 25.

“I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to get back behind the wheel of the NASCAR Xfinity Series,” said Dillon. “Jordan’s program has had some good runs this season and I look forward to building on what his No.31 team has been able to build so far. It’s cool to honor Brendan Gaughan in his hometown and wear the South Point Hotel and Casino colors again in my career. In 2012 when I made my first start in the Xfinity Series South Point was the sponsor of my car and what Brendan and his family have done and continue to do for our sport is worth celebrating.

Having competed full and partial in the NASCAR Cup Series (NCS) for the past eight seasons, the Lewisville, NC native has 166 NCS starts to his name. In those starts, Dillon collected two Top-5s and six Top-10s.

Kicking off Dillon’s progression to the highest level of NASCAR, the 29-year-old won the 2012 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) Sunoco Rookie of the Year (ROY) title with one victory, an impressive seven Top-5 and 17 Top -10 finishes. Dillon backed up his freshman year with two wins, nine Top-5s and 12 Top-10s the following season en route to being the 2013 NCWTS Championship finalist.

Before moving to the NCS full-time, Dillon would spend three seasons in the NXS competing for a championship. In his rookie season, Dillon would take top honors from Chase Elliot in the NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) Sunoco Rookie of the Year rankings after a fierce battle throughout the season, earning one victory, seven Top-5s and 24 Top-10.

The following season, Dillon won 12 Top-5s and 25 Top-10s placing third in the 2015 NXS Championship points standings. In his last full season of driving in NXS, Dillon won nine Top-5s and 17 Top-10 with a career record five second places. NASCAR would switch to the Chase format in 2016 for the points standings, making the pursuit Dillon out of the final round in a close battle with Justin Allgaier. Ultimately, finishing fifth in the season standings.

In 155 NXS career starts, Dillon earned a victory with 34 top five and 90 top 10.

In seven LVMS starts in NCS competition, Dillon has an average of 24.9 with a best of 10e coming in 2020, while averaging 15.3 with a best seventh in six NXS starts. Dillon also holds two NCWTS starts, earning a better fourth place finish.

“Ty is a very experienced rider who will be able to get into the seat and instantly put the team in a position to compete forward. We first raced against each other in Legends cars over a decade ago – so it’s really cool to see this opportunity come full circle. JAR President Jordan Anderson said.

“It has been incredibly rewarding to have the opportunity to put together a team of drivers who have been able to show the capabilities of our equipment and our team. As we continue to grow our relationship and program with CPR equipment and ECR motors, it is exciting to see the potential the future holds for all of us. We are also extremely honored to welcome the South Point Hotel and Casino on board this weekend.
