Partner Profile: Microtel Inn & Suites –

You’ll notice a chic hotel on your way to town if you drive on Kensington Avenue.

That would be Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Estevan, located at 120 King Street.

While the exterior of the building may first catch your eye because of the flashy Christmas decorations, there have been some recent improvements to the interior, especially with the main lobby, explains managing director Nilesh Jejurkar.

“The bar and lounge are a new concept,” Jejurkar said. “It’s not just for hotel guests, anyone in the community, or anyone walking down the street can join us at the bar.”

The menu includes chicken wings, spring rolls, pizza, desserts, wine and beer.

The hotel also has a swimming pool, waterslide and fitness center.

“We welcome big groups, sports teams, all kinds of groups,” Jejurkar said.

Microtel also has a unique program called the Common Ground Program. The hotel collects small donations from guests and the money is donated to the community each year. Last year, Microtel was able to donate $ 2,500 to Envision Counseling and $ 2,500 to Estevan Air Cadets.

“Each year our team chooses our community’s nonprofit charity, and that’s how the money goes,” Jejurkar said.

The hotel also offers gift certificates during the holiday season.

“We wish everyone – all of our guests, our community – a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.”

The Estevan site was built in 2012 and Microtel also has a site in Weyburn which was built in 2014.
